Manchester United Prepared To Make Huge Loss On Midfield Star, With Asking Price Lowered To £24m

Manchester Untied are willing to allow Juan Mata to leave the club in January…
Manchester United are willing to accept a huge loss on Spanish midfielder Juan Mata by selling him to Juventus in a deal worth £24m, a staggering £13m less than they paid Chelsea for him at the start of this year.

Mata has failed to impress new United boss Louis van Gaal, despite previous manager David Moyes paying a club record £37.1m for his services in January.
The arrivals of Angel di Maria and Radamel Falcao have also pushed Mata further down the pecking order in a team blessed with a lavish number of world class attacking options, also including Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie.

According to the Daily Mail, Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri sees the 26-year-old as the perfect addition to his squad, as he looks to engineer a sustained run in the Champions League.
Mata is also likely to be open to the move come January, assuming the Italian giants are, unlike last season, able to progress beyond the Champions League group stages, and subsequently guarantee him European football post-Christmas.
The Express references Italian media outlet Tuttosport, who believe that Mata is already surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, and that United are ready to offload him for the quoted fee of £24m as Van Gaal continues to make changes to his squad.
